This Privacy Policy explains what Personal Data we collect from customers, how we use it, when we share it, how we protect it, how long we retain it, and the choices and rights available to you.
This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Knotify Customer App and the services made available through it.
This policy applies from the Effective Date stated above and may be updated from time to time.

This may include properly aggregated or anonymized usage statistics and technical information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
When you register for a Knotify account, you are presented with this Privacy Policy and the applicable Customer Terms and Conditions. By affirmatively accepting them during sign-up, you acknowledge and accept the processing of your Personal Data as described in this Privacy Policy.
Where a particular processing activity requires a separate consent under applicable law, we will obtain that consent separately.
You may withdraw consent for processing that is based on consent by contacting us at knotifycare@gmail.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully before withdrawal.
Some Personal Data is necessary to create and operate your account, process bookings, provide Services, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations. If you withdraw consent or request deletion of information necessary for those purposes, some or all Knotify Services may no longer be available to you.
We may retain information after withdrawal of consent or account deletion where retention is reasonably necessary for legal compliance, accounting, taxation, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, or other lawful purposes.
Your use of Knotify is also governed by our Customer Terms and Conditions.
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to cancellations, refunds, charges and related booking matters.
These documents are separate from this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy governs matters relating to Personal Data; the Terms and Conditions govern your use of Knotify and the contractual relationship between you and Knotify; and the Refund and Cancellation Policy governs refunds and cancellations.

By using Knotify, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into an agreement under applicable law.
If we reasonably learn that an account belongs to a person below the permitted age, we may suspend or terminate the account and take appropriate steps regarding the associated Personal Data.

These logs may include your mobile number, timestamps, request information and other technical information generated during interactions with our systems.
The Knotify Customer App does not use an advertising ID for targeted advertising, your phone contacts, your microphone, your camera, an analytics SDK, or a crash-reporting SDK.
Where a third-party service is opened from the Knotify app, that service may collect information under its own privacy policy.
We use your mobile number and account information to create and maintain your Knotify account, send login OTPs, authenticate you, maintain secure login sessions, and prevent unauthorized access.
We use Personal Data to receive and process your service requests, determine service availability, match and dispatch Helpers, schedule and manage bookings, provide the selected Service, support navigation and service execution, and maintain booking and service records.
After the applicable payment requirement for a booking has been completed and the booking proceeds, we may share with the assigned Helper the information reasonably necessary to perform the Service, which may include your phone number, service address, booking time and other relevant booking information.
Before the required payment is completed, Knotify does not provide a customer with a direct contact channel to the Helper through the booking flow.
The Helper may receive the service location and other information necessary to reach and perform the booking.
For an accepted booking, we may show you information about the assigned Helper necessary for the Service, including the Helper’s name, profile photo where available, phone number where contact is enabled, rating and relevant service information.
We use your Personal Data to create payment orders, process payments, confirm payment status, record transactions, apply eligible coupons or wallet balances, process refunds, and issue invoices and billing records.
We use Personal Data to respond to complaints and support requests, verify the booking or account involved, investigate service issues, resolve disputes, and maintain support records.
We may use your mobile number, email address, push token and other contact information to send login OTPs, booking confirmations, booking status updates, payment confirmations, cancellation or refund updates, service-related alerts, important account and security notices, and changes to the Platform or policies.
We may use Personal Data to detect and prevent fraud, prevent unauthorized account access, investigate suspicious activity, protect Customers, Helpers and Knotify, detect misuse of the Platform, investigate safety incidents, and enforce applicable Terms and Conditions.
We may use aggregated, anonymized or otherwise appropriately protected information to improve the reliability and performance of Knotify, understand service demand and usage trends, troubleshoot technical issues, improve features and user experience, and plan and develop new Services. We do not use Personal Data for third-party targeted advertising.
We may process and disclose Personal Data where necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations, respond to lawful governmental or regulatory requests, comply with court orders or legal processes, establish, exercise or defend legal claims, and meet accounting, taxation or record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your Personal Data. We may share Personal Data with parties that need it to operate Knotify, provide the Services, process payments, maintain infrastructure, protect users, or comply with law.
For a booking that proceeds after the required payment, the assigned Helper may receive information necessary to perform the Service, including your service address, phone number, booking details and location information required for service execution. We limit the information provided to what is reasonably necessary for the booking.
We may share your Personal Data with trusted third-party service providers that assist us in operating, maintaining and delivering the Platform and Services. These service providers may support payment processing, communications, notifications, cloud infrastructure, storage, mapping, location services, customer support, security and other essential business functions.
Such service providers may process Personal Data on our behalf and are permitted to use it only for authorized purposes related to the services they provide to Knotify, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality and security requirements.
We may disclose Personal Data to courts, regulators, law-enforcement agencies, government authorities or other parties where required by applicable law, required by a valid legal process or order, necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents or unlawful activity, or necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of Customers, Helpers, Knotify or others.
Where legally permitted and reasonably practicable, we may provide notice of a material disclosure. We may withhold notice where the law prohibits it or where doing so could compromise an investigation, legal process or security matter.
If Knotify undergoes a business reorganisation, acquisition, sale of assets, merger or similar transaction, Personal Data may be transferred to the successor or relevant third party as necessary for the transaction. Any such transfer will remain subject to applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.
Payment services used through Knotify may be processed by third-party payment service providers. When you make a payment, the payment service provider may collect payment credentials directly from you. Knotify generally receives and retains payment-related information such as the payment amount, payment status, payment or transaction identifiers, booking reference and refund information.
Knotify does not store your full card details, CVV, UPI PIN or banking credentials on its own systems.
Information collected directly by a payment service provider is subject to that provider’s own terms and privacy practices.
While the Customer App is open, Knotify may process your current device location to help identify an address and determine whether Services are available in the relevant area. Knotify does not collect Customer device location continuously in the background through the Customer App.
A saved address may include the address text together with its corresponding latitude and longitude.
Knotify may use the address you select or enter together with location information available from your device to determine whether the requested Service is available in the applicable service area.
When you use address or place search functionality, information you enter may be sent to our mapping and location provider to return relevant places, addresses or routes.
You may deny or revoke location permission through your device settings. Some location-dependent features, including automatic address selection or serviceability-related functionality, may not work correctly without location access.
Knotify uses SMS to send OTPs required for login and authentication.
Knotify may use a push-notification service provider to deliver notifications. Push notifications may include booking updates, payment information, service alerts, security notices and other operational messages.
Certain messages are required to operate the Services and cannot always be disabled while you maintain an active account or booking.
Where Knotify sends promotional or marketing communications, we will provide the controls and opt-out mechanism required by applicable law. You may also disable push notifications through your device settings.
When you rate or review a Helper, Knotify may use the rating or review to improve service quality, monitor performance, investigate complaints, protect Customers and Helpers, and improve the Platform.
We may share relevant service feedback with the Helper or the internal team where necessary for service quality, dispute handling or safety.
Support conversations, complaints and related records may be retained for service, security, dispute-resolution and legal purposes.
Knotify will not publish your testimonial, name or other identifying information as a promotional testimonial without obtaining any consent required by applicable law.
Knotify may provide referral programmes from time to time. We may process referral codes and referral attribution information to identify successful referrals, apply eligible rewards, prevent referral abuse or fraud, and maintain referral records.
Knotify does not read your phone contacts to operate referrals.
We may create aggregated, anonymized or de-identified information from information generated through use of the Platform.
Examples may include:
Number of bookings by service category.
Aggregated service demand.
General service usage statistics.
Aggregated operational metrics.
Platform performance information that cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual.
We may use this information for analytics, planning, service improvement, troubleshooting and business operations.
We do not treat information as “non-personal” merely because your name has been removed. Information that can reasonably be linked back to you remains Personal Data.
Knotify does not currently operate its own website and therefore does not use website browser cookies as part of a Knotify website.
The Customer App may store information locally on your device, including secure authentication/session information, notification preferences, and other information required for app functionality.
Authentication information stored on the device is protected using the device’s secure storage mechanisms.
When you log out, certain session information may be removed or invalidated. Uninstalling the app may remove locally stored app data from your device, but uninstalling the app does not automatically delete Personal Data held on Knotify’s servers. Server-side deletion is handled separately through your account or deletion request.
Third-party payment or service pages may use cookies or similar technologies under the third party’s own policies.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect Personal Data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction.
Our security measures include, as appropriate:

Protection of OTP and authentication secrets using secure hashing mechanisms.
Secure storage of authentication information on supported devices.
Private storage for uploaded files such as profile photos.
Time-limited access links for certain private files.
Monitoring and logging for security and operational purposes.
Backup and recovery measures.
Controls designed to limit access to Personal Data to what is reasonably necessary.
No digital service can guarantee absolute security. You should keep your device, OTPs and account information secure and should not share OTPs with another person.
If Knotify becomes aware of a Personal Data breach that requires notification under applicable law, we will take the steps required by law, including notifying affected persons and/or authorities where required.
